Have you ever wondered How To Make A Paper Purse? Well, it’s easier than you might think! Stampin’ Up! has the perfect set of dies to make creating this adorable little Backpack Purse a breeze! And today I’m going to show you how to make it in 2 different colors!
Master Your Card Making
In this Monday Video Tutorial Series, formerly known as “Let’s CASE it, Let’s Make it!” I choose a card from any current Stampin’ Up! Catalog and sometimes I copy it exactly, but oftentimes I switch it up and make it my own. This series is intended to give you Tips & Tricks and get you on your way to CASE’ing cards. (CASE – Copy and Share Everything)
For today’s project, I REALLY switched it up and CASE’ed Artisan Designer – StampinHoot. When I saw her creation on Instagram I saved right away! She posted it earlier this year, but this purse is always in style!

How to Make a Paper Purse
First, let’s start off by pulling out our All Dressed Up Dies and 2 of your favorite Stampin’ Up! 8-1/2 X 11 Colored Cardstock. I used Flirty Flamingo, Basic Gray & Smoky Slate. All the supplies are listed below in this post with photos and links. I also used a few retired items, so I cannot link them, but they are interchangeable and you can use whatever you have on hand. The retired items I used are; White Linen Thread, Tufted 3D Embossing Folder and the 6X6 Designer Series Paper Sampler Pack

Now I checked out StampinHoots blog after I created these, and didn’t realize she did the actual purse a little different than I did. I just embossed the original purses (each side) I had cut out with the dies. Only to learn later that she had cut out an extra full piece for both sides, trimmed it down so only the front was left, and embossed that. Then glued that to the purse itself. You can do it either way. Both works, the way I did it uses less cardstock, but more of an effort is made to emboss the pieces. You will see in the video.

As I said, I did one purse in Gray, and one in Pink. The color combination possibilities are endless! now you know me, I’m not one for typing endless directions, so here’s the step-by-step how to make a paper purse tutorial for you.

Question: Do you have the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper I mentioned? Don’t you think one of the little cats or dogs would look adorable poking out of the pocket? I wish I had thought of it while making these!
