INK SMOOSHING for Watercolor Backgrounds Effect

Ink Smooshing Technique
Ink Smooshing Technique

Don’t like to watercolor? Do you get frustrated with watercolor results? Do you love the watercolor effect and want new ideas? Have you tried INK SMOOSHING with Acetate? Today I’m going to show you a super fun and EASY technique that looks like a watercolor background but takes a fraction of the time and effort. It’s near impossible to mess up this cardmaking background technique.

Fast and Easy Technique

Both the Light Ink Smooshing and the Dark Ink Smooshing techniques are super easy! I especially like the “Lighter” version of the Smooshing Technique because it gives the background the soft look that appeals to me. In the video (below) I showed you how to do it with a “Darker” version too. Have a look and let me know which one you prefer.

Altering Your Sentiments

I really like how I altered the sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set (All the supplies are listed below) It really changed the stamp and in my option, and looks awesome. It’s so easy to alter sentiments of all varieties. What way to stretch our supplies and make something old feel new again! Not that this sentiment is very old, to be honest, it was only released in January! It’s in the Mini Catalog, but is making its way to the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. YAY!

I was so excited to film this video and have it be the very first ‘new post’ on my new website, that I totally forgot to even mention the CASE’ed (Copy & Share Everything) card for today! lol
Nevertheless, I chose this card from Page 3 of the January – June 2020 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. I liked the card, but I was not very fond of the background. So I figured we could switch it up this week and create a background, alter the sentiment, and the die then added some bling.

I also created a Step-by-Step VIDEO TUTORIAL for you. Enjoy!

Question: Did you prefer the LIGHTER or the DARKER background?
