Sumi Rice Paper is the preferred choice for Chinese calligraphy and painting(also known as xuan paper). Soft, flexible, and smooth, Sumi Rice Paper provides a clean slate for writing, painting, and stamping, and it is also surprisingly strong against the test of time. It also really holds ink very very well! It’s the perfect paper to pick up all the leftover ink off your workspace to create gorgeous backgrounds. You can also use rice paper for die-cutting. This particular paper lends itself well to art that requires multiple washes since it can hold up against high levels of liquid and pigment. It’s a thin, absorbent, see-through paper usually made in Japan.
10 pieces (7.5″ X 11)
How to use:
To create stunning backgrounds crinkle the Sumi Rice Paper then pick ink up from your workspace. Lightly tap the paper straight down, then straight up. Do not swipe the Rice Paper like a cleaning towel unless you want a blended background. Some of my favorite backgrounds are created with Tim Holtz Distress Mica Stain. You can use Distress Ink, Distress Oxide Ink, Distress Stain, Distress Paint, or any other inks or watercolors you may have on hand. Painting on crinkled rice paper helps you produce an artsy look.

I can’t wait to use my rice paper.!
This is very good quality rice paper, it’s extremely easy to use. Mop up inks etc and make fabulous backgrounds. It’s very forgiving, you can screw it up and flatten it out and let it dry.
Would recommend.
