30 Cards in 30 Days – White Card bases

30 Cards in 30 Days - Day 23 - White Card Bases - Daisy Birthday Card My Inkie Fingers

Day 23 has arrived and brought with it white card bases. I chose this theme when I looked out the window last week and saw SNOW! haha The snow has since melted and I think it’s gone for good this time. But white card bases are still here and this Happy Birthday Daisy Card will live forever in the home of that special person you send it to.

Happy Birthday Daisy Card

First off I wanted to recognize and apologize for you getting 2 emails yesterday. It was an internal error on my part as I made a goof! lol

For today’s card, I 100% cased Tammy Wilson. She’s another gal I would like to be when I grow up. lol I’m so in love with all her cards and her style. Her Pinterest is so satisfying to look at. I often find myself scrolling through her Pinterest or Instagram ‘just because’.

When I thought about the daisy for this card I thought of some “Failed Pigment Sprinkles” experiments. So I started digging in my trusty little basket full of all the papers I’ve experimented on and found the perfect colors combo. You see, even when your ‘background’ or project fails you should always save it because it may work for something else. I posted a photo of the fail below so you can see how I turned it from fail, to fabulous.

Cutting your cardstock:

  • Cut a side folding A2 (5-1/2 X 4 – 1/4) size card from any white cardstock. (But design it in landscape)
  • a piece of Basic Black and a piece of white cardstock (5-3/8 X 4-1/8). The black for your card mat, and the other of the insert.
  • 1 piece of White Cardstock (5-1/4 X 4) for your card front.

Failed Pigment Sprinkles Background – Fail to FABULOUS!

Punching, Embossing, Stamping, Assembly & Final Touches:

  • As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I used a failed experiment to punch out my flowers. You can use a watercolored, alcohol ink designed, or designer series paper background. Any pieces of scraps would do the trick too! Whatever you want. All you need is 6 medium daisies. Use the punch to punch them all out.
  • Stamp the sentiment in versamark, then heat set with white embossing powder.
  • Emboss your white card front with the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Place the daisies (one behind the other) on the card front with dimensionals.
  • Fussy cut the sentiment apart so it can be used on all the daisies.
  • Lastly, tie a bow with the twine and add a few rhinestones and/or gems.
