Who’s ready for some more Washi Tape Card Ideas? The Washi Tape Shop reached out to me again and asked if
I would like to review the Halloween collection. I mean is it really even a question as to whether or not I would?
I’ve become a huge fan of the Washi Shop’s products.
First, for the stunning beauty of the gorgeous tapes, reflective foils, one of a kind vintage elements, realistic pieces, and more. But I kept coming back because of the quality. Because it doesn’t really matter how ‘pretty’ something is if the quality isn’t any good right?
Try placing stickers rom the Venus’ Garden Sticker Set, or the Botanic Manor Sticker Set on a watercolor piece. They stick to Canson XL 140lb Watercolor Paper quite well. I show you how to do this in the video linked below. I’ve also linked all the supplies and items I used a little further down. I chose to add an image that resembled a stamp from the Petals & Parchment Washi Sticker Set just to give the card some visual interest (Below). On the blue card I used a stamp sticker from the Vintage Planner Material Set. But it’s no longer available. You may have picked it up when you saw the Ephemera for Cardmaking Blog Post or Video?

As you may have already seen, or will see below, this is the card I created with the Venus’ Garden Sticker Set. I especially love the hue of purple in this set even though I’m really not a fan of purple. But you can recreate this card quite easily as this is the stamp sticker from the Petals & Parchment Washi Sticker Set. You can also recreate the “I Miss You” Sentiment very easily as I have a tutorial here for that.

This card came together so quickly. I almost feel like I’m cheating when it’s this easy to make a card. Almost… but not entirely! We all deserve those days when we can just make cards the easy way, with no stamping, coloring, cutting, and fussing. With the Trick or Treat Washi Tape Sticker Set your card making will be a breeze too!
My only quick tip is to remove the negative sticker from the strip before trying to pull out the washi stickers. This way the washi sticker comes off easily and won’t tear.

The process for making the card (above) is the same process as this card. With exception to the washi strip. On the card above I only placed one strip across the card front. Whereas in this card I covered the card entirely with the Halloween Night Washi Tape Set. Mark the center of the card with a line and place your washi on that line and work outwards. I demonstrate this in the video above. Once you have completed that step you can add your stickers and sentiments as desired. Did you notice how easy it is to decorate the insert and envelope with these stickers on hand?
While I’m sure this has been done before I have to say I thought myself rather crafty when I came up with the idea. But like I said, I’m sure it’s been done before by someone, somewhere.
With all the Washi Tape Card Ideas out there have you seen foiling on Washi? I haven’t, but then again, I don’t get out much lol
I’m rarely the inventor of crafty ideas, but I do tend to execute the ideas really well. Wouldn’t you agree?
This instance is true to that statement. Foiling on Washi Tape or foiling on Vellum are both very easy. In all honesty, it’s the same as foiling on regular cardstock.
A couple things to keep in mind are, the washi width, and perhaps placing a few strips together. This way the foiling on top looks seamless. It sure does add a nice touch when you have foil on top of pretty patterned Washi Tape. The tape you use is important too. I’ve found the iCraft Purple tape to be easy to work with, but then I found Spellbinders Best Ever Craft Tape was even better! This is the ONLY tape I use now as I find it will not transfer the foil when I create hinges or have to tape my glimmer plate/piece down to the substrate.
